Once the fourth wicket partnership was broken, new Zealand bowlers didn't have a tough time running through the Sri Lankan line-up. New Zealand won by 122 runs

Overnight batsmen - Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal got off to a good start, putting on a half-century stand. Sri Lanka were in a position of going for the win while they were at the crease.

Dinesh Chandimal continued his good run with the bat, scoring the second half-century of the match.
