India got off the a solid start with Shikhar Dhawan racing to a 22-ball half-century.

Rohit Sharma too played some crisp strokes before he was dismissed for a 36-ball 43 but he set up a solid platform for the team for a late onslaught.

Hardik Pandya (27 off 12) walked in to bat ahead of MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh and his belligerence helped India surge ahead in the last few overs.

Suresh Raina too played his part and hammered 30 off 19 balls.

Thisara Perera dismissed Pandya, Raina and Yuvraj Singh to pick up a hat-trick but a solid start meant India posted 196 for 6.

Sri Lanka lost Tillakaratne Dilshan on the first ball of the second innings as he was stumped off the bowling of R Ashwin.

Sri Lanka kept losing wickets and could manage just 127 for 9 to hand India a series-levelling 69-run win.
