On a rain-curtailed day, India Red managed to stretch their lead to 114 led by opener Abhimanyu Easwaran's 153. India Green managed to keep a check on the run-scoring but it wasn't enough to wrest control from India Red.

Easwaran, who had scored his ton on the second day, lost his overnight partner Ankit Kalsi after putting on a 101-run stand for the third wicket. But he managed to add 49 more runs on the third day to get past 150.
India Green, through Ankit Rajpoot and Tanveer Ul Haq, then had their hopes raised with two wickets falling in the space of five overs including that of Easwaran. However, Ishan Kishen and Aditya Sarwate put paid to any hopes of a collapse with a steady 61-run stand that saw Red increase their lead considerably.
