Sophia Dunkley handed central contract by ECB

After earning a full-time domestic contract last year, middle-order batter Sophia Dunkley has now been awarded her maiden central contract with the England Cricket Board, it was announced on Tuesday (June 8). The 22-year-old allrounder, who made her debut for England in the 2018 Women's T20 World Cup in West Indies, has featured in 15 T20Is matches.

Dunkley replaces left-arm spinner Kirstie Gordon who is the only one left out from the previous 17-member list of contracted players by the board. Gordon also made her international debut during England's runners-up campaign in the Caribbean but hasn't played white-ball cricket for the country since.
