KL Rahul and his love for Mumbai Indians has reached new heights. Of his 28 fifty-plus scores in the IPL since 2018, 25 percent of those have come against the Mumbai outfit. Rahul's eight scores of fifty or more have come in only 16 innings against MI (including one half-century while playing for RCB), which is one fifty plus score in every two innings that he has played against them. Suresh Raina has scored seven fifty-plus scores against MI, but the former CSK left-hander got them in 34 innings.
Three of his four IPL hundreds have come against Mumbai Indians and Rahul is the only player in the world to have three T20 hundreds against a particular opponent. For the record, nine hundreds have been scored against MI in the IPL in its 15-year history, and Rahul has scored a third of that. Shikhar Dhawan leads the charts for most runs against MI. But his 871 runs in 27 innings has come at an average of 39.59 while Rahul is only four away from Dhawan, and the Lucknow Super Giants skipper's average of 86.70 against MI is way ahead of the second best - Shaun Marsh's 526 runs - that came at 47.81.
