Stranded, unpaid and unheard: Durbar Rajshahi foreign players left in the lurch

The foreign players and staff of Durbar Rajshahi are yet to get their payments, a top official of the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed to Cricbuzz. His confirmation came only a few hours after the owner of Rajshahi, Shafiq Rahman, had announced to the media that they have arranged tickets for the foreign cricketers to return to their respective countries.

Durbar made the announcement close on the heels of reports that the overseas players were stranded in their team hotel in Dhaka after the franchise continued to miss payment deadlines while the owners and members of the team management did not respond to their calls.

Mohammad Haris (Pakistan), Aftab Alam (Afghanistan), Mark Deyal (West Indies), Ryan Burl (Zimbabwe) and Miguel Cummins (West Indies) are all waiting for some portion of their payments. While a couple of them have been paid 25 percent of their respective dues, others haven't been paid at all.

While the team owners promised that they would clear the payment, several local cricketers of Durbar Rajshahi camp checked out from the hotel room without getting their due payment.
