Injury woes for the defending champions of WPL - Royal Challengers Bengaluru - deepened as Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of the third season, which kick-started on February 14. Patil was named in RCB's squad for the season but she failed to recover on time from her shin injury. All-rounder Sneh Rana has been roped in as Patil's replacement. Rana has already joined the main squad, having travelled to Vadodara earlier this week with RCB as a part of the side's pre-season camp.

Patil was a vital cog in RCB's title-winning campaign of 2024, picking up the Purple Cap with 13 wickets in eight games - four of them in the final against Delhi Capitals. She joins the likes of Asha Sobhana and Sophie Molineux on the injury list, while RCB are also without Kate Cross and Sophie Devine.

Rana meanwhile, has featured in 12 games across two seasons of the WPL for Gujarat Giants and even captained them in two matches when Beth Mooney was injured. The all-rounder however, went unsold in the auction ahead of this season but has now found a home at the holders.
