Start the timer. The final stretch towards World Cup preparation sees two of the pre-tournament favourties, Australia and India squaring off at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The hosts, Australia, started their dress rehearsal with a routine win over England in Sydney and now face the World Champions. Mitchell Starc was incisive and David Warner continued to bat in god-mode. They'll want to iron out a few chinks in their middle order too.
Live Cricket Score of India vs Australia, 2nd Match at Melbourne

India, a few days back, quite literally, scaled one of Cricket's highest peaks when they launched their new kit atop the MCG! They will now donthe blue for the first time since they thoroughly smashed a hapless Sri Lanka side 5-0 at home. While they return to their favourite format, the conditions are not quite what they were when Rohit Sharma blasted 264 in Eden Gardens. A lot more bounce and carry is expected from the surfaces Down Under. India however showed that they were more than capable with bat in the preceding Test series. They'll now want to sort out their playing combinations before the big event. The spotlight, however, will once again be on their bowlers.
Australia will continue doing the processes that has brought them much success in the recent past. Should be an engrossing contest.
Ajinkya Rahane has been slotted in to bat at No. 4. Virat Kohli played there in the series against Sri Lanka. Dhoni reckoned that he foresaw a middle order of Kohli, Raina and himself at 4,5 and 6 respectively. Wonder how they'll go!
MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first on a good looking wicket in Melbourne. Axar Patel made his way into the side with Ravindra Jadeja not having recovered sufficiently from his shoulder injury. Happy to be back, MS Dhoni, reckoned that World Cup was still a fair distance away.
Australia made one change to their eleven from the England game. Gurinder Sandhu made his debut replacing left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty.
