Jermaine Blackwood was the star yesterday but his maiden Test ton was not enough for West Indies to get back on top. England managed a sizable first innings lead and then batted well in the last session to extend it. They have the advantage of starting day 4 with two well set batsmen at the crease. Root and Ballance have looked solid so far. West Indies' best chance remains with striking early. Otherwise, the match will slip away rather quickly. Day 4 is often referred to as the 'moving day' of a Test. England are well set to surge well ahead unless the hosts conjure something magical.

Gary Ballance got his fifty early in the morning session. He's just growing with each passing game. We are seeing the future of the England batting in these him and Root. Overcast conditions at the start of day 4. Lot of work to be done for West Indies. England can just bat them out of this game if they last the first hour unscathed.

Root got his second fifty of the match soon after. England got through the first half hour without any trouble. Looking well set to make it big.

He's missed out on a ton for the second time in the game. Pretty similar to the way he fell in the first innings as well. Chopped on once more. This time off Jason Holder. A good partnership ends.

Another poor review from Benn. He forces Ramdin to go for it against Stokes. The batsman had played a slog-sweep and missed. The impact was clearly well outside off though. He'd wasted one yesterday as well.

Ben Stokes and Ballance batted positively. The lead went past 300 as well. The partnership came at a very quick pace as well. West Indies looked flat on the field.

England are running away with the game. Gary Ballance and Joe Root got their fifties early in the first session. Root fell soon after chopping one on off Holder. But Ballance and Stokes have helped England consolidate thereafter. Their partnership rattled along at a brisk pace and England are slowly getting into a position from which they can push for a declaration later in the day. Ballance will bee eyeing his hundred soon after lunch. Join us for all the action in a little while.

Ben Stokes fell in the first over after lunch to Benn. Stokes was looking to put Benn under pressure straightaway but comes down the track and misses a slog. It was a straighter one from Benn as well. Easy stumping for Ramdin.

Fourth in Tests and something that should erase memories of a horrendous World Cup campaign. Gary Ballace is making that No 3 spot his own and in some style.
