Australia's subcontinent woes worsened at the end of second day's play in Galle as the visitors were on the verge of a series defeat against Sri Lanka. The Steven Smith-led side collapsed from an overnight 54 for two to 106 all out. Australia managed to bowl Sri Lanka out for 237 in their second outing, before ending the day at 25 for 3, 388 away from an improbable victory to stay afloat in the series. Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera tormented Australia with the ball, taking eight wickets between them in the first innings, and following it with a crucial partnership towards the fag end of Sri Lanka's innings.
