For the first time since playing their maiden Test in November 2000, Bangladesh registered a victory against a nation apart from Zimbabwe and West Indies when they defeated England by 108 runs in the second Test in Mirpur on Sunday (October 30). England were in a comfortable position at 100 for 0 in the chase of 273. However, they lost 10 wickets for 64 runs as Bangladesh managed to square the series after losing the opening Test by 22 runs.
Mehedi Hasan was once again the pick of the bowlers, taking six wickets in the second essay to go with his six in the first. He won the Man of the Match award and was also named the Man of the Series for his tally of 19 wickets in the series, which included three six-wicket hauls.
