In the final minutes of the morning session on Day 2 of the seventh round of the tournament, Harper was standing up to the stumps to spinner Jon Holland when Lehmann attempted a pull on the leg side and hit the keeper's head in his followthrough. Even though Harper was wearing a helmet, the 20-year-old collapsed to the ground, as players and medical staff rushed to his aid.
The unfortunate break held up play as Harper was helped off the field and the umpires called for early Lunch. Later, an update confirmed that Harper was conscious and talking, but at the same time was being rushed to the hospital immediately for scans.
