India continued their domination over the hosts Sri Lanka with a thumping win in the first of the five match ODI series. Sri Lanka were sent into bat and from 139 for one in the 24th over, they collapsed to 216 all out with more than six overs to spare. The visitors brushed aside the target of 217 with consummate ease losing just one wicket. Shikhar Dhawan scored his 11th ODI hundred and partnering with him was chase-master Virat Kohli who finished with an unbeaten 70-ball 82.
