Jalebi with curd is a common delicacy in Kanpur - be it for morning breakfast or evening snack. Even as individually both are found throughout the country, they are rarely consumed as a combo. But, it tastes good if you try, and try you must; like so many things that have unexpectedly good results only when tried. Salt in hot chocolate or Carnatic music on a saxophone.

And some, just look pretty.

Flowers in dilapidated brick walls. Water droplets on stained glass. Feathers on damp earth. Fairylights on trees. Sunshine in the rain. Floodlights in long-form cricket.

The white flannels shine like pearls under lights. As the sun sets down and makes way for a more pleasant weather, it becomes all too appealing, visually. Cricket, on the field, however has it own challenges, and if Parthiv Patel's version is anything to go by, it isn't a bad experiment going on; only a matter of minor adjustments.

But, the experiment is at a nascent stage. The Indian team hasn't tried it out and the domestic workout needed a push. It finally came on
