That's it from us tonight. Do join us on November 1 for the T20I series opener between the two sides. Till then, goodbye!

Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match while Virat Kohli is awarded Man of the Series.

Bumrah clinches it for India!

Exceptional final over from Jasprit Bumrah! Yorker after yorker were sent down, cutting off Santner's swinging arms to connect like he did in the previous over. When he eventually did, he found Shikhar Dhawan in the deep. In the end, New Zealand fell short but not without giving India a run for their money despite centuries from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. At the halfway stage, India would've hoped for a much easier route to the win but that just sums up the quality that New Zealand have brought to the game in this series.

With this win, India extend their successive bilateral series wins to 7 - their best stretch in ODIs.

Series decider goes to the final over!

Mitchell Santner has done well here. He smashed a six off Bhuvneshwar but the bowler too made a strong comeback. Ten runs come off it. What a fine series finale this is turning out to be. Bumrah tasked with defending 15 off the last 6.

Latham run out!

What an unfortunate ending to an otherwise exceptional batting effort. Colin de Grandhomme swung and missed and ended up watching the ball go thud into Dhoni's gloves, while Latham looked to pinch one quickly. Unfortunately for him, Grandhomme didn't spot his running partner. Latham had to turn around and head back but Dhoni threw the ball to Bumrah whose shy at the stumps didn't miss. Latham was livid, and rightly so. He exited the stage with a 52-ball 65.

Cleaned up!

Bhuvneshwar has ended Nicholls's resolve! Virat Kohli is ecstatic with the wicket, the sort of break that was needed to halt New Zeland from running away with a series win. But you've got to wonder if Nicholls has actually done enough to give New Zealand an easier platform here. Kaushik, seated to my left, certainly seems to think so... 'If only I had a Nicholls every time I chase' he quips as the batsman trudges off for an immensely handy 24-ball 37. The equation now stands at 32 off 19 balls.

Latham, Nicholls take Bumrah apart

Spoke too soon with the 'gamechanger' bit, did we? To be fair, it was a gamechanger, but for New Zealand perhaps. Latham and Nicholls collect 15 off it, including a six over the 'keeper's head. The silverlining for Bhuvneshwar Kumar is that he gets a shot at redemption. He's been ripped apart so far, but can he live up to his death-overs credentials.

Yuzvendra Chahal keeps India in the game!

Exceptional over under the circumstances. Latham and Nicholls look for sweeping opportunities but can only take five runs. New Zealand now need 50 off 30 balls. 18 off those will be bowled by Bumrah, who has conceded 20 runs in 7 overs and picked 2 wickets. The gamechanger?

Kohli takes a gamble!

After a discussion with MS Dhoni, Kohli turned to Hardik Pandya for the 44th over. Pandya comes in after having conceded 36 runs in the first three over.

Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls don't do anything out of the ordinary, nothing driven by pure adrenaline. Both get a four each to collect 11 off the over. The equation is now down to 55 off 36 balls. If Latham goes on, and there's a good chance he will considering how good he's been this tour, New Zealand will end India's excellent home run. Good time to read Kaushik's

Kohli comes into bat. Team Management to Rohit -

go in as an unchanged side for the final ODI
