Field day for Kanpur's police force

It's not everyday that the police force of Kanpur collectively have a day out. It essentially wasn't a day out as much as it was a field day for them given that a cricket match was being played in town. Right from thronging the roads that lead into the stadium to gather around various entry points to sitting in a heap in the stands being mere spectators themselves, they were in and around Green Park like bees to flowers. Despite that, to the amazement of many, a breach took place.

Amidst skipper Virat Kohli's 32nd ODI century celebrations, a spectator strolled onto the field like he was headed for his routine morning walk. He was almost one-thirds from the pitch when the square leg umpire walked towards him, asking him to leave as he started retreating. He took his own sweet time to make his way out as hundreds of policemen sat watching from the stands and around. After a good two minutes or so, he was accompanied out by a personnel, as some policemen then began walking towards the scene of action. The spectator, meanwhile, was being mobbed by cameramen who wanted a glimpse of the man. Among the thousands present, he was the only one who made walking onto a ground during an international game seem like child's play.
