West Indies vs Pakistan, 2nd T20I - Live Cricket Score, Commentary

PAK 133/9 (20)
WI 135/8 (20)
West Indies won by 2 wkts
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Jason Holder

Once the undisputed heavyweights in the format, West Indies have been having a miserable time of late with just two wins in their last 19 matches before this game. Much-needed win for them today. Going to be a short turnaround for the series decider which is in less than 24 hours time. We'll see you then. For now, it's goodbye!

Shai Hope | WI captain: Firstly hats off to the bowlers for setting the game up. Pitch was a bit challenging. Credit to the bowlers for giving batters a chance for chasing it. We always try to improve our skills and get better as a team. Guys have been putting in a lot of hard work. Just need to find ways to get more singles in the middle period. We tend to be a boundary hitting team, we're known for that. But when the pitch isn't conducive, need to get the singles going.

Salman Agha | Pakistan captain: In this game we didn't bat well in the powerplay and couldn't finish the game like we wanted either. But we bowled and fielded well. There's always room to improve - death bowling can be better. 130 was never enough but they fought really well. The way spinners bowled in both games, I think we're ready for Asia Cup. They always come in numbers and support us wherever we play.

Jason Holder | Player of the Match: Been a tough couple of weeks for us. Needed a win. Told Romario when we were batting that we needed at least four sixes. We are powerful players and know that we can find the boundary. Extremely proud. Even from the Australia series, we could see plenty of positives. Credit to the bowling group, don't think we can ask for much more from them. I love playing for West Indies. One of my things is to leave WI cricket better than I found it. We've had a fair bit of criticism which is warranted. Consistency has definitely plagued us. Will keep doing my best when I get a chance.

23:41 Local Time, 03:41 GMT, 09:11 IST: What a finish to this second T20I as West Indies keep themselves alive in the series! They had lost six in a row coming into this game, and you can see what this win means to the players and the fans who are jumping in delight. Holder himself was overjoyed after that final blow, roaring his lungs out before hugging his partner. He was superb with the ball as well earlier in the evening, taking 4/19 and playing a big role in restricting Pakistan to 133. The target proved to be a challenging one against Pakistan's spin troika on a sluggish pitch. All three of them bowled superbly and had combined figures of 6/53 in their 12 overs, putting the visitors on top. But the pacers couldn't close it off. Hasan Ali, in particular, was very expensive and went for 32 in his final two overs as Holder and Shepherd struck some powerful blows.

19.6

Shaheen Afridi to Holder, FOUR, Holder gets them over the line! He lets out a big roar as soon as it finds the gap and runs away to the boundary. They've had a wretched run of late, and what a way to bring an end to it. He steps across the stumps expecting Shaheen to go outside off, gets a full ball and swipes it between square leg and fine leg who were in the ring

19.6

Shaheen Afridi to Holder, wide, Holder steps across the stumps, Shaheen goes even wider and beats the bat. But the ball has finished outside the tramlines and it's going to be a wide. 3 off 1!

Holder needs to find the boundary off the final ball

19.5

Shaheen Afridi to Shamar Joseph, 1 run, very full outside off, Joseph can't get under it as he squeezes it down to long-off. Has been a superb over from Shaheen so far. Can he finish it off?

19.4

Shaheen Afridi to Holder, 1 run, low full toss wide of off, Holder reaches out and carves it on the bounce to deep backward point. It's come down to 5 needed off 2

Ball-tracking says that Shepherd delivery would've crashed into leg stump. Umpire got it spot on

19.3

Shaheen Afridi to Shamar Joseph, 1 run, low full toss outside off, drilled to long-on

Shamar Joseph, left handed bat, comes to the crease

19.2

Shaheen Afridi to Shepherd, out Lbw!! Oh the finger goes up and West Indies have no reviews left! Was it missing leg with the angle? Shaheen goes for the yorker, ends up being a low full toss that smashes the front pad as Shepherd is beaten on the inside edge. Will have to wait for the replay to see where it was headed. Shepherd lbw b Shaheen Afridi 15(11) [4s-2 6s-1]

Shaheen Afridi to Shepherd, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!

19.1

Shaheen Afridi to Holder, 1 run, low full toss wide of off, Holder mistimes it to long-off

Just 8 needed off the final over

18.6

Hasan Ali to Shepherd, no run, two dots to finish a very expensive over. Back of a length outside off, slower one which stays low and goes under the bat as he looks to pull hard

18.5

Hasan Ali to Shepherd, no run, Shepherd is in some pain after going to the floor! Sharp bumper outside off, he's late on the pull and misses. Gets back up very gingerly

18.4

Hasan Ali to Shepherd, FOUR, sliced away to the boundary! Tries the wide yorker, Shepherd reaches out, opens the face and slices it over backward point. What timing from the big man!
