Dewald Brevis

That ends things for this game. We will be back for the decider on the 16th. Do join us then. For now it's bye bye.

Aiden Markram: Nice to take it to the third game of course. We always worry when we lose the first game that the third game will be for nothing. (on Brevis' knock tonight) The boys just found themselves laughing on the side. He hits it miles, quite a freakish display. It's scary, he will keep getting better, hell of a ball-striker. We know they come really hard, holding your nerve and proud of the boys for getting the balls in the right areas which allowed us to take those wickets.

Mitchell Marsh: Was just saying to Aiden, he mistimed quite a few sixes tonight, he is a young powerful player (Brevis). As I said pre-game, chasing it down was always tough and fair play to South Africa.

Dewald Brevis | Player of the Match: I haven't thought about it to be honest (on having the highest score for South Africa in T20Is). Really grateful and thankful to god for winning tonight. We want to win and to come back stronger after the first game. Everyone played a part and we took our catches. They are great players and they hit the ball hard and over the ropes, we have to be on it in this format. We played well today, so it's great.

22:28 Local Time, 12:58 GMT, 18:28 IST: South Africa deservingly level the series. They posted a big total on the board and used the scoreboard pressure to derail Australia's chase. Markram got the crucial wicket of Head in the 2nd over and wickets came regularly after that. David again shone with a 50 but he didn't get the support he needed from the others. All the 6 South African bowlers who were used took wickets but Maphaka and Bosch were the pick with three-fers each. South Africa used the slower-ball off-cutter to great effect and the pitch aided them, despite there being a lot of dew out there. South Africa also break their 6-match losing streak against Australia with this win. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...

17.4

Ngidi to Abbott, out Caught by Rabada!! South Africa break Australia's winning streak. It's a slower-ball off-cutter again, full outside off, Abbott slogs across the line and it's a thick outside-edge that loops to short third man. A dolly and that ends things. Abbott c Rabada b Ngidi 1(6)

Ngidi to Abbott, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

17.3

Ngidi to Abbott, no run, seam-up and the attempted yorker, but a low full-toss around off, driven to extra-cover. Three dots in a row

17.2

Ngidi to Abbott, no run, another slower-ball off-cutter and again it's a dipping low full-toss on middle, Abbott is early into the flick, toe-ends it to mid-wicket

16.6

Corbin Bosch to Zampa, out Caught by Stubbs!! Two in two. Length outside off, Zampa gets forward to loft and there's no power in the shot, carries comfortably to long-on. Stubbs won't drop that. It's an easy catch. Corbin Bosch now on a hat-trick. Zampa c Stubbs b Corbin Bosch 0(1)

Corbin Bosch to Zampa, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Adam Zampa, right handed bat, comes to the crease

16.5

Corbin Bosch to Dwarshuis, out Bowled!! The middle-stump is pegged back. A slower-ball off-cutter on a length on middle, Dwarshuis swings to leg and doesn't get anywhere near the line of the ball, misses and the middle-stump is found. Corbin Bosch points towards the dressing room to Dwarshuis in celebration. Dwarshuis b Corbin Bosch 12(7) [6s-1]
