That's all from today, folks! Join us tomorrow for Texas Super Kings vs LA Knight Riders. See you then, bye for now...
Matt Short | Player of the Match and Unicorns Captain: Always nice to get these awards but happier with the win. (On captaincy) It's not too difficult, we have the staff doing the work behind the scenes. Big shoutout to Corey Anderson as well for all the support. (On the pitch) It was a bit of a strange one today, we wanted to bat second actually. The pitch looked a bit dry and sticky, but played a lot better than expected, credit to the ground staff. Our batters played pretty smart, attacked the shorter side. (On the death bowling) Credit to our bowling unit, happened last game as well after TSK got off to a flier. Our death bowlers just hung in there. (On winning streak) We sat as a group before the tournament started and asked ourselves why can't we win every game. We take our game pretty seriously, and we'd like to keep this going.
Nicholas Pooran: Tough day for us, credit to them. We didn’t execute our plans as a bowling group. (On if the target was too high) If we chased that down, it would be a great chase. The opening partnership gave us a chance but credit to them, they bowled well in the middle phase. (On their poor form) We’ve had some tough games, it is challenging when the other teams are also playing nicely. We need to go over our plans again and come out with better execution of those plans.
22:43 Local Time, 03:43 GMT, 09:13 IST: A high scoring clash in Texas that had MI New York in the contest for the first 10 overs, till they fell off massively. They were set a mammoth target of 247 after Matt Short and Fraser-McGurk got fifties in the first innings. However, Monank Patel and Quinton de Kock came out flying in the chase. Patel was the aggressor for most of the powerplay, backing away and hitting the bowlers, picking up a few streaky boundaries as well in the process. Monank got to a fifty but miscued a Liam Plunkett cutter to be dismissed. Since then, the MI New York batters found things difficult, as the Unicorns bowlers bowled pace off and kept it away from the hitting arc. Nicholas Pooran really couldn't get going, and was out caught behind to a specualative call from the third umpire. Romario Shepherd then struck twice in his final over, getting rid of the well set De Kock. Bartlett added a couple for himself too as San Francisco closed out the game clinically to continue their winning streak. Stick around for the presentations.
Bartlett to Pollard, no run, superb yorker from Bartlett to close out the game! Sneaks between leg stump and the batter's boots. A dot ball. The Unicorns continue their winning start for the season, win by 47 runs.
Bartlett to Pollard, 2 runs, pace off and outside off, swiped towards cow corner for a couple of runs
Bartlett to Pollard, no run, full and fast onto middle stump, defended
Bartlett to Sunny Patel, 1 run, pace off and back of length on the body, nudged to square leg
Sunny Patel, right handed bat, comes to the crease
Bartlett to Heath Richards, out Caught by Karima Gore!! Another one for Xavier Bartlett! A short delivery outside off, Richards swats it away across the line. Came off the middle and made a sweet sound of the bat, but the ball was travelling against the wind and towards the longer side of the ground. Plucked out by deep square leg near the boundary ropes. Heath Richards c Karima Gore b Bartlett 1(3)
Bartlett to Heath Richards, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Bartlett to Heath Richards, no run, low full toss, drilled down the ground and takes out the non striker's stumps. Might have got a deflection off the bowler's hands, but Pollard was in his crease
Haris Rauf to Pollard, no run, good length and outside off, a swing and a miss for the burly MI New York batter
Haris Rauf to Pollard, SIX, pace off and full outside off. Pollard fetches it from there and smokes it across the line. Once again flat and hit with plenty of power to send it beyond the boundary ropes
Haris Rauf to Pollard, FOUR, full delivery outside off, Pollard gets closer, stays deep in his crease and slams it down the ground for a boundary
Haris Rauf to Pollard, no run, full and wide, Pollard tried to run it down once again but can't connect this time around
Haris Rauf to Pollard, FOUR, wide yorker, Pollard hangs his bat out and guides it to the right of short third for a boundary
Haris Rauf to Pollard, SIX, slot ball onto middle and leg, whacked away for a flat six over long-on. Pollard isn't giving up quite yet
Haris Rauf [3.0-0-30-1] is back into the attack
Bartlett to Pollard, 1 run, right in the blockhole. Stabbed down to long-on
