W
Siraj to Brydon Carse, out Bowled!! A look of relief more than anything else on Siraj's face! Amidst all the short-bowling, it's actually the fuller one that brings the wicket. Pitched right up on off-stump, Brydon Carse had moved away very early, gave himself plenty of room, too much room in the end and he had to reach out to try and keep it out. Didn't lay a bat on it in the end and it smashed the base of off-stump. Fairly muted celebrations from India but boy did they need that. Big partnership has been broken. Very handy little knock from Carse. Brydon Carse b Siraj 22(23) [4s-4]
94.4

4
Siraj to Brydon Carse, FOUR, that's been thumped away! Short of a length on leg-stump, followed him again but Brydon Carse was somehow able to smack it off the backfoot and through mid-on despite being completely cramped for room, it beat Gill to the ropes

4
Siraj to Brook, FOUR, cut away hard and Brook just 3 away from a fine 100. A back of a length delivery outside off, width and Brook cuts hard square of the wicket on the off-side, gives deep point no chance to his right, that sped off the bat. 18 off the over and Siraj has been cut into ribbons here
85.5
4

85.3
6
Siraj to Brook, SIX, in the slot and smashed for six. Brook loves this battle with Siraj. Full outside off, the wobble-seam delivery and in the slot, Brook plays a white-ball shot, gets forward and spanks it, right off the meat of the bat, flies well over long-on

83.5
Siraj to Brook, no run, drama between Siraj and Brook. The bowler staring down the batter for an elongated period of time and some words as well. This is fascinating cricket. A hard back of a length delivery on off, nips back in and Brook gets forward to push, misses, hits the back elbow and then the back thigh, rolls away to the off-side. Brook for a second did not know where the ball went, looked back nervously if the ball went back on to his stumps. Then he saw Siraj staring down
83.4
Siraj to Brook, 2 runs, Brook wants to take down Siraj here. He gives the charge and almost holes out to Prasidh deep at mid-on, just bounces in front of the tall pacer, he can't field properly and since he got a hand on that, takes the pace off, mid-off chases and keeps it to two
83.3
4
Siraj to Brook, FOUR, this is spanked over cover. Wide length delivery outside off, shapes away, width and Brook has gotten forward and carved it over cover, won't back down an inch this fella

81.6
Siraj to Brook, no run, full just outside off, Brook gets forward to drive and it's a thick inside-edge that rolls to the short-leg area, after hitting the leg of Brook, Siraj runs across and cuts it off, he has his hands on his head as does Gill, that was close to sneaking through the defences
81.5
Siraj to Brook, 2 runs, full on middle and leg, flicked in front of deep square-leg and Brook runs hard and fast to come back for two, Shardul the man there
81.4
Siraj to Brook, no run, that was ugly from Brook. It is full and wide outside off, the outswinger moves further away, Brook loses balance as he reaches for it to drive and misses, almost fell flat on his face there, and was close to edging that too
81.3

W
Siraj to Stokes, out Caught by Pant!! Siraj has got the England captain. He roars and says come onnn! Stokes knows he's played a bad shot. Throws his bat up in disappointment, catches and clutches it between his jaw and chest as he walks back. Silly mid-off on, so that rules out the off-drive for Stokes. Siraj stayed round the wicket and angled this length delivery in, got it to nip away as Stokes wanted to play squarer. Tried to run it towards point. Instead he's found a thick edge through to Pant. Big wicket this as the partnership was growing strong. Stokes c Pant b Siraj 20(52) [4s-3]
64.4
Siraj to Stokes, no run, round the wicket to the LHB. Stokes mistimes the slap to cover
64.3
Siraj to Brook, 1 run, now he wrists this through square leg and almost finds the gap. Sub Nitish Reddy does an excellent job running to the right from deep mid-wicket to make a rolling save. Short of a length delivery angling, Brook played the field to perfection
64.2
Siraj to Brook, no run, defends this good length delivery to the on-side
64.1
4
Siraj to Brook, FOUR, steps out and lofts it over the infield. Man catching at silly mid-off to stop him from pushing down the ground. But by advancing and smashing the ball he wants to put fear in that fielder standing so close. This is a great counterresponse the strategy from India. This one sat up nicely to be smacked on the rise and Brook obliged, hitting over wide mid-off
62.5
4
Siraj to Stokes, FOUR, edged and into the gap! Good length delivery on off-stump, Stokes prods forward to defend, again with soft-hands and it takes a thick outside edge, goes right in between a wide slip and the keeper, would've never carried though even if there had been a slip

33.6
Siraj to Root, no run, short of length and tight on off, Root with a solid back foot block
33.5
Siraj to Root, no run, no wonder Root reviewed immediately. The Headingley crowd love that as it comes up on the big screen. The shiny side was pointing towards third man and it came in sharply with the rough side, conventional swing, Root falls over slightly on the flick, misses, rapped on the pads but too much angle and too much movement, means the ball is missing leg-stump easily. As soon as umpire Paul Reiffel's finger went up, Root gestured for the review with a few mutterings under his breath. Then went to Pope and made the point it was heading down leg. It was the case. Gill was so happy as he ran towards Siraj with the finger pointing towards him, KL Rahul was mobbing Siraj but all those celebrations soon turned into glum faces. A big moment in the day

Siraj to Root, no run, short of length on off, angled in, Root goes on the back foot to defend, hits the outer half of the bat and rolls to cover
29.6
Siraj to Root, no run, lovely over this from Siraj. No wonder he has a big smile on his face as he follows-through close to Root. He came from close to the stumps and bowled a beautiful outswinger, starts to angle in towards off and then curves away ever so late, that late movement takes it past the outside-edge, three times Siraj beat Root that over
29.5

29.1
Siraj to Pope, 1 run, length delivery outside off, Pope gets forward to drive square of the wicket on the off-side
20.6
Siraj to Pope, no run, short of length outside off, width and Pope cuts it straight to the fielder at gully, either side and it was four, Siraj lucky to get away with it
20.6
Siraj to Pope, no ball, wide and no-ball both but it's the latter which takes precedence. It's a wild wide delivery outside off, so wide that Pant dives to his right and takes it one-handed in front of 1st slip. 20.2
Siraj to Pope, no run, Siraj up to his antics now. Claps sarcastically at Pope with a smile even as the batter doesn't even look back at him. This after Pope gets forward and flicks the length delivery to mid-on, wonder what Siraj saw there

18.5
Siraj to Duckett, no run, short of length outside off, Duckett hangs back and cuts late but finds guly
18.4
Siraj to Duckett, no run, a wry smile from Duckett at Siraj who follows through and has a word. This is a beauty. Angles it in towards off, wobble-seam, then it nips away from there and Duckett pushing forward is beaten as it squares him up, that's a corker and Duckett did well not to edge that, Duckett smiles and nods twice at Siraj who was looking to engage in some banter

16.1
Siraj to Pope, no run, full outside off, Pope gets forward to drive it back to Siraj, hit firmly but finds the bowler
14.6
Siraj to Pope, no run, again Siraj is interested but this is clearly going down leg. Siraj goes wide of the crease and angles it in, the wobble-seam delivery and Pope falls over on the flick, misses, rapped on the pad and the impact is on leg-stump, clearly missing though and India don't review. Pant tells Gill that it's going down leg
14.5
Siraj to Pope, no run, Pope is lucky - saved by the ump's call on hitting. This is a good delivery and nips back in to off, Pope gets forward to defend and the inward movement defeats him, flicks the front pad but above the kneeroll and then the back thigh, just clipping and the onfield decision from umpire Chris Gaffaney was not out which saves Pope
