As yet another ball whizzed past his outside edge, Ross Taylor looked down the pitch in bewilderment. He did that wide-eyed blinking gesture that batsmen do when they think their eyes are not seeing things clearly. Taylor clearly wasn't sure how he had, once again, missed a ball from Stuart Broad. It was not the first time he had had that look on his face since he arrived at the Edgbaston crease. It was not to be the last either.
