Two teams with completely contrasting mindsets clash tonight with a common objective - to win. For Rising Pune Supergiants, it is all about playing for pride. They are out of contention for a berth in the playoffs but they would desperately try harder to not finish at the bottom of the table. Usman Khawaja who was brought in as a replacement player will have to fire like he did in the Big Bash earlier this year. He has made some starts but never really kicked on to notch up a big one. The bowling department is another worry for the Supergiants as they have failed to show consistency.

Delhi Daredevils, on the other hand, would like to believe that the heavy loss against Mumbai Indians a few days ago was just a blip and nothing more. A win tonight will help them take a giant stride forward towards that playoff spot which has eluded them for some time now. It will be interesting to see if they throw any surprise tonight. Expect Imran Tahir to be dropped though after he conceded 59 off his four overs in their last game.

Some dark clouds were threatening for a while but they have disappeared for now. So the game should begin on time.

Dhoni opts to field first and then is slightly surprised when told that teams batting first have won 75% of the games. They have dropped M Ashwin and have given Deepak Chahar a chance to impress. Nathan Coulter-Nile, Mohammad Shami and Shreyas Iyer return to the playing XI for the Daredevils. Ian Bishop did mention at the toss that there were a few droplets of rain. So we will have to watch out for that.

The Supergiants have got the big fish very early tonight! De Kock struggled a bit against Deepak Chahar and Dinda takes advantage of that situation as de Kock is trapped plumb in front. Early swing causing the South African's downfall. Karun Nair is in at number three.

Shreyas Iyer was given another opportunity by the Daredevils management but he has failed to make use of it. Dinda strikes again! He bowls a short ball with a fielder stationed specifically for this. He took on the fielder but the top edge ensures his downfall. Supergiants are on top already as Samson walks in.
