For someone dubbed as just a part-time spinner time and again, Moeen Ali is making it a habit of picking big wickets. Warner's tortuous stay at the crease came to an end just before the lunch break. Ali got one to go on with the arm from round the wicket. Warner missed it completely as he played for the turn and was caught plumb in front. Big break for England just before the break.

After a relatively slow moving first two days, the third day produced some frenetic action. 15 wickets fell in the day and by the end of it, Australia were looking at a record run chase to prevent defeat. 412 is the score they need to win. There is little chance of rain on day 4 but there is some predicted on the last day. While the target may be a daunting one, Australia will have to approach it with a clear mind. They just need to bat as much as possible and forget about the scoreboard. The runs will come. As for England, if they fail to pick 10 wickets in 2 days, they will look back and say that they did not deserve to win the Test.

England's catching has been quite impressive today. Root ends a 72-run stand between Starc and Johnson as he gets the former edging to slip. Cook dropped it but Lyth hangs on to it on the rebound.

Johnson hammered Root for three fours and a six in his first over but the latter had the last laugh. Johnson was trying to power his way to a ton but edged a sharp turner to slip. England one away from taking the lead.

This knock almost slipped under the radar. Johnson has hung on for a long while without being too emphatic about it. The only time he tried to impose himself was when the spinners came on. Good knock so far but he seems to be only delaying the inevitable

That's a cracking win for England. Hazlewood miscued a big hit off Ali and fittingly it was Root - the hero of the match - who took the catch to finish it off. The margin of victory is a clear indication of England's dominance through the game. Terrific start for the home team and Alastair Cook. Australia need to have a hard look at themselves and try to come back strongly. Lot of important questions that need answering for Clarke and Co.
