South Africa have found themselves in unfamiliar territory yet again as they are close to losing another series at home against England just a few days after losing the Test series against the same opposition. England's new found ODI success have helped them take a 2-0 lead and they would look to seal the series here today at Centurion. What can South Africa come up with to keep themselves alive in the series?
There is the first breakthrough for South Africa and it is a lucky one. Jason Roy slashes one past gully to the third man region and wants the second run but is unable to beat Morne Morkel's accurate throw. Waste of a wicket as Joe Root comes in at number 3.
Eoin Morgan has won the toss and has opted to bat first under some overcast conditions. AB reckons that the ball come on to the bat nicely under lights. England are unchanged but South Africa have brought in David Wiese for Rilee Rossouw.
South Africa: H Amla, Q de Kock (WK), F du Plessis, AB de Villiers (C), JP Duminy, F Behardien, D Wiese, K Rabada, K Abbott, M Morkel, I Tahir
England: A Hales, J Roy, J Root, E Morgan (C), J Buttler (WK), B Stokes, M Ali, C Jordan, A Rashid, D Willey, R Topley,
England have recovered well after losing Roy. Even though the run rate has come down a little bit, these two have steadied the ship. With the likes of Morgan, Buttler and Stokes to follow, an excellent platform is being laid. South Africa need a wicket here.
The duo are closing in on a 100-run partnership and have both registered half-centuries after the initial blow. They took their time initially but have decided to accelerate now with wickets in hand. Surprisingly, Joe Root's strike rate is higher than Hales at the moment.
