The 3-match ODI series is done and dusted, the action now shifts to T20Is. India were the better side in the ODIs, they were made to work hard, but the visitors achieved a clean sweep in the end. The shorter format gives Zimbabwe a good chance to cause an upset. It will also act as practice for next year's World T20.

India have a few names that have done well in the Indian T20 League and will be eyeing a permanent spot when the squad is announced for the World Cup. Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Sandeep Sharma are a few of them who have had good outings for their respective franchises. Jadhav and Pandey also spent some quality time in the middle in the final ODI.

Let's see what happens at the toss...

India captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first. Sandeep Sharma, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Kedar Jadhav, and Stuart Binny make their T20I debuts for India. Taurai Muzarabani gets his maiden T20I cap for Zimbabwe.

Teams:

India (Playing XI): Ajinkya Rahane(c), Murali Vijay, Robin Uthappa(w), Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny, Axar Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma, Sandeep Sharma

Zimbabwe (Playing XI): Hamilton Masakadza, Chamu Chibhabha, Craig Ervine, Charles Coventry(w), Elton Chigumbura(c), Sikandar Raza, Prosper Utseya, Graeme Cremer, Neville Madziva, Chris Mpofu, Taurai Muzarabani

India got off to a decent start as openers Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay batted out the two overs without any trouble. In the second over, Vijay whipped a delivery to the on-side but the deep square leg fielder got across and pulled it back before it crossed the rope. India got three runs for it.

What a dominant performance by India! They have comfortably won the first T20I by 54 runs. Oh and this is India's first win since the 2014 World T20.

Zimbabwe's chase was well set by their openers Chibhabha and Masakadza who managed to put up a 55-run stand in 8 overs. The duo batted with good awareness and were pretty harsh on the bad balls. From 55 for no loss to 68/4 - that's where the home team had lost the match.

After the openers departed, India just cashed in and kept on picking up wickets at regular intervals and ultimately registered a resounding win.
