With four consecutive losses, India have had a dismal tour so far. Australia will be gunning for a whitewash, and their 19th consecutive win at home. India's batting will be a lesser cause of concern for Dhoni but the bowling department has been a huge let down. So much so that Dhoni has resigned to the theory that his batsmen will have to compensate for the weaknesses on the other front.

Australia are missing quite a few of their first choice bowlers but the others have stepped up wonderfully well on pitches that have stacked the odds completely against them. Sydney will play host to the final ODI and a bit of rain will be a cause of concern. The Duckworth-Lewis charts will be kept ready right from the outset.

Mitchell Marsh, after a struggle early on, has smashed his maiden half-century against India and put on a brilliant partnership with David Warner for the fifth wicket.

David Warner's innings comes to an end as he is undone by Ishant Sharma's slower delivery. He looks to smash the ball outside the park, but ends up edging it to Ravindra Jadeja at backward point

Matthew Wade and Mitchell Marsh have continued to pile the pressure on the Indian bowlers. The partnership that looked scratchy initially, has already put on a half-century stand and taken Australia's total past the 300-run mark. In the process, Mitchell Marsh has also posted his highest score in ODIs.

Mitchell Marsh slammed his maiden century to take Australia to 330-7. Even as he batted brilliantly, he was extremely slow in the last three overs. The bowlers bowled well, Marsh looked scratchy and Hastings wasn't quick between in the wickets. Nonetheless, it is a good total on the board.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have taken India off to a steady start. There have been leading edges which have run away for boundaries, beautiful flicks which have resulted in fours and six and there have been some poor shots too on display. While Rohit Sharma is yet to get into the groove, Dhawan is having a merry time in the middle.

India are off to another dominating start. After the initial scratchy bit, both Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, one after the other have started plundering the Australian bowleers. Not just the runs they have scored or the quick running between the wicket, the duo has put an exhibition of elegant strokeplay.

Shikhar Dhawan's explosive 56-ball 78 came to an end courtesy a brilliant diving catch by Shaun Marsh at deep point. Australia have got their first breakthrough and will look to make inroads after this wicket. This will also enable them to bring the run rate down

Virat Kohli, who has had a brilliant run with the bat in the series, is out while trying to play a pull shot. He gets a top edge which is safely taken by Mathew Wade, the wicketkeeper, soon after going past the 1,000-run mark against Australia. The hosts have come back well after India put on a century stand for the opening wicket.

Rohit Sharma has quietly set himself up for a big innings despite a couple of big breakthroughs from the other end. Manish Pandey too has got his eye in. The required rate is in control, but India can't afford too many quiet overs at the moment.

Was Rohit unlucky there? Seems so. Out for 99. The umpire thinks he's edged one behind but replays don't tell the same story. The batsman lets out an anguished cry. Importantly, for Australia, they have broken a good partnership. Dhoni, the finisher, failed in the last game. What can he do today?
