The bandwagon returns to Vizag tonight as Mumbai Indians 'host' Kings XI Punjab. While the Kings XI are just one more loss away from confirming their exit, Mumbai are looking to confuse a few more heads with a win tonight which will take them back into the top four.
Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck the last time these two sides met but two unlikely heroes in the form of Rayudu and Parthiv stepped up on that night to help Mumbai win by a comfortable margin.
Kings XI on the other hand, are languishing in the bottom and are almost out of the race for a top-four spot in what has been a disappointing campaign. They did put up some improved performances after Murali Vijay took over including their previous game where they lost agonisingly to the Royal Challengers by one run. It will be interesting to see if the pitch assists seamers like it did in the previous games. Match number 43 promises plenty of action!
Mumbai have dropped Parthiv Patel for this clash and will be batting first for a change. Rohit reckons the pitch will get slower in the second half. Unmukt Chand gets a game. Kings XI bring back Glenn Maxwell and Gurkeerat Singh Mann.
Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Unmukt Chand, Ambati Rayudu, Nitish Rana, Kieron Pollard, Jos Buttler(w), Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Tim Southee, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah
Kings XI Punjab (Playing XI): Hashim Amla, Murali Vijay(c), Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Marcus Stoinis, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, KC Cariappa, Sandeep Sharma
That was terrible from Unmukt! He finally gets his chance tonight but has wasted it. Tries to chip the ball over the infield but fails to execute it. Gurkeerat takes the easiest of catches. Ambati Rayudu is in at number 3. He had a great game when these two sides met last time.
What a delivery that was from Sandeep! Kings XI are roaring here in Vizag after just three overs. Sandeep brings one into Rayudu and he completely misses the delivery. The stumps are shattered, Mumbai are reeling! Nitish Rana is the new batsman. Rohit has to drop anchor!
It's been Kings XI Punjab all the way so far! This is the lowest score in the powerplay this season and that says a lot. The pitch is already taking turn as Axar got it to rip. Signs that it is not going to get any better as the game progresses. Mumbai should target 150 for now.
