India would be feeling a little disappointed that they were not able to close out the game but overall they had a good workout in both the practice games and that should keep them in good stead ahead of the first Test. The team went through some long frustrating periods of play today with the hosts opting for a safety first approach and they should be better equipped to deal with similar situations during the Tests. They will also have a selection headache with KL Rahul being in prime form.
After putting up convincing performances with both bat and ball, India will be looking to wrap up the game on the final day ahead of the Test series. KL Rahul scored his second half-century of the tour and has definitely caused a selection dilemma. Skipper Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja helped themselves to half-centuries as well to help India take a lead of 184 in the first innings.
Ravichandran Ashwin then had opener Leon Johnson caught and bowled off the final delivery on day two to put the visitors on top. Ashwin, Amit Mishra and Jadeja accounted for eight wickets in the first innings, will the spin trio make a huge statement in the second innings as well?
Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja started the proceedings for India but the overnight batsmen John Campbell and Shai Hope have been solid. The duo also managed to add some runs by being positive. The score moves past 50 now.
There is the first wicket of the day! Campbell has been positive so far against the spinners and he perishes looking to take on Jadeja again after hitting him for a six previously. KL Rahul takes the catch at midwicket.
