Toss - RPS opt to field
Both teams have made a change each. SRH replace an ill Yuvraj Singh with Bipul Sharma, RPS pick Washington Sundar in place of Rahul Chahar.
Away blues?
While it's a possible narrative to spin the story of the game around, it is worth pondering if playing at home and then away makes any difference to teams in IPL? Let's just say that's a debate for a later time, since another double-header approaches our way. Sunrisers Hyderabad have started well at home, but haven't done too well away from home. They are at the MCA stadium in Pune, where runs have come aplenty and the home side is currently bottom-placed. What better occasion to shrug off the poor-travellers tag?
If the saying 'you're only as good as your last result' applies to IPL teams, then RPS' position in the points table may not be the true reflection of their abilities. They still have Steve Smith at the helm, and Dhoni is yet to come into his own. Form has eluded him for a while in the format, but a promotion to No. 4 could work well. Will RPS consider it? We've wait and watch.
For SRH, it is an interesting proposition. They took a punt with Kane Williamson in the last game and it came off spectacularly well. So that leaves them with two foreign player spots to fill. Will they bring back apple of Warner's eye from 2016, Mustafizur? Again, only time will tell.
