Can things get any worse for Australia? The absence of Steven Smith and David Warner has had an impact, no doubt about that but they have got more pressing issues to deal with just 12 months to go for the World Cup. They have already been battered in the series 3-0, but it's not just about pulling a win back to salvage pride, it's about recovering from an assault they have never experienced before. The 242-run defeat at Trent Bridge is the worst they have ever suffered and the ODI outfit is looking clueless.
It has also had an impact in their rankings despite being the reigning world champions. To top, they are suffering these losses against their arch rivals and it's time they put an end to this drubbing. It will be interesting to see if they ring in some changes in the bowling department but watch out for the batting lineup as well after they failed to fire on a belter of a track.
For England, it's all about piling on more misery on their already battered opposition. That top order is looking terrific with each batsman making merry in the last outing. Bairstow simply cannot stop scoring and Hales is making things difficult for the team management as well looking ahead. Eoin Morgan blasted his way to a quickfire fifty and confidence-wise, they are well on top. They finished just 19 runs short of reaching the magical mark of 500. Good thing for Australia is the track for this fourth ODI isn't expected to be as good as the one we witnessed at Trent Bridge.
