Build Up:
The three-match ODI series against South Africa turned out to be a tale of 'what-ifs' for Zimbabwe. In especially the second game, the visitors were in the ascendancy with South Africa in all kinds of trouble at 101 for 7. However, Zimbabwe couldn't close out the innings and eventually, slid to a 120-run loss. South Africa also clean-swept the rubber 3-0.
The visitors now would focus their energies on the three-match T20I rubber, with the first game being played in Buffalo Park. Can the Hamilton Masakadza-led side turn their fortunes around? Or will South Africa continue to bestride their neighbours? We will have all the action in a while.
On a side note, South Africa could bring in the uncapped batsman Rassie van der Dussen for the game. The hosts will also be bolstered by the return of de Kock and Miller.
