India have done it, Dhoni has done it! Naysayers, go away. India win the series 2-1, and this is their maiden bilateral series win in Australia. Although the finishing runs came off Jadhav's bat, it is Dhoni who's unbeaten on 87 and was the glue that held the chase together -- more so after Jhye Richardson accounted for Kohli for 46 in the 30th over. More importantly, Dhoni has done it without Kohli at the other end. Chahal's 6 for 42 held Australia to 230 odd before Dhoni came and delivered the goods. What a tour this has been for India!

Fifty for Jadhav. How well has he played! Couldn't clear the boundaries, so kept rotating the strike. India need 14 off 12. Dhoni at the crease means India should get home. But, stay on. This is going to be close.

Australia lose their review. Shouldn't mind taking it for the sake of Dhoni's wicket. Was trapped in the crease to a ball angled in, hits around middle but the height always looked an issue. Missing leg-stump! India need 59 off 49.

50-run stand between Dhoni and Jadhav. India need 68 and 62 balls. With Jadeja and Shankar to come, do you reckon India are in a safe place now?

Fifty for Dhoni! That's his 70th half-century in ODIs. Think about that. Also his third consecutive fifty in the series. Why are we talking about his form, again? India need 78 off 70. Can Dhoni finish it off, this time without Kohli?

Fifth time MS Dhoni has scored three or more 50s in succession in ODIs

Kohli goes! This is a huge wicket. Kohli is furious at himself as he walks back to the pavilion. And it's that man again, Jhye Richardson, who has produced the breakthrough. Drives outside off, edges behind and hands a catch to the keeper. Jhye is over the moon.

100 up for India! Kohli and Dhoni are finding ways to survive this phase but at least they are still there. The pair looks a bit stuttered when it comes to running between the wickets today. Dhoni should have been out twice now. He was dropped by Maxwell at point off Stoinis, and then Australia messed up a run out chance at the bowler's end. The partnership is now in the 40s, so India can breath a bit easier.

The partnership is broken!Dhawan hits the slower ball back to the bowler, and Stoinis shows off his sharp reflexes and takes a superb grab. First wicket for him, second for Australia. And here's Dhoni at No. 4!

Early blow:Rohit had survived an lbw call off Siddle in his first over, but now gets an outside edge to Marsh at first slip off the same bowler.

Right then, we're back. Light are on.Rohit and Dhawan in the middle, Richardson with the ball.

Covers on... just FYI

Australia bowled out for 230..Shami hits the final nail in the coffin. He cleans up Stanlake and the hosts are rolled over within 50 overs. Bhuvneshwar put India on track with his early strikes before Chahal came into the game. The leggie broke the partnership between Marsh and Khawaja and there was no stopping him. He added Stoinis, Richardson, Handscomb and Zampa to his kitty. Most of the Australian batsmen got starts but none could go past Handscomb's 58. India have a relatively easy chase on hand.

While India are in with the prospect of creating history of another kind after bagging the Test series, for Australia, it would be a chance to turn their fortunes in the 50-over format around. It would also do their confidence a world of good if they can manage to pull this one off with the World Cup in view.
