So a win for KKR over MI after four years! They racked up the season's highest total and broke out of their six-match losing streak. MI could have qualified with a win tonight but that's a story for some other day. More importantly, KKR hang by a thread in the competition. What spice, what joy. Hope you liked our coverage. See you tomorrow, ta-ta!

KKR win by 34 runs

On the lines of what everybody thought, Mumbai could have won if the target was around 200. Those 33 extra runs hurt them. Hardik was superb, but Andre Russell's all-round effort was too hard to beat. He didn't just score 80* off 40 balls but also chipped in with bowling figures of 2 for 25. In the context of this high-scoring game, that's something commendable.

Hardik falls for 91

Geez, even KKR fans would have secretly wanted Hardik to get to that hundred. What an amazing innings this has been. Brutal display of six-hitting, turning the Eden Gardens from hostile to silent. Andre Russell takes the catch at deep mid-wicket. It's like the game's destiny tonight is weaved around him.

AND THEY DROP KRUNAL

Top-edges a googly .. Uthappa calls for it .. settles under it. And then, Dinesh Karthik comes running across, blasting into my TV screen, bumps into Uthappa and ... poof, the catch is down. Some miscommunication in KKR right now, on and off the field.

It's KKR vs MI !!

Have you ever missed your morning alarm, missed the bus to office, endured a tough day at work, only to realize later that you're wearing your shirt inside-out? That's the kind of day KKR seem to be in the middle of. And it lumbers on, like a day in Iceland. If losing six games in a row wasn't enough, KKR had Andre Russell embrace passion at a press conference, explaining to the media (instead of his team manager?) about how he's unhappy with the the decision-making in the side. What do you make of it? Tweet to me.

And the last team KKR would have wanted to face is Mumbai Indians, a side they last beat in 2015. But how worse can it get. Maybe this is the day they snap out of two losing streaks. We'll see. Here's the match preview by Aayush Puthran.

KKR losing streaks:

  • Last four games at Eden: LLLL

  • Last six games this season: LLLLLL

  • Last eight matches vs MI: LLLLLLLL
