Build-up:

Hello and welcome to the Live Blog for Match 56 of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League. Three teams have already qualified for the next round but there's a lot riding on this match.

Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders are the two teams facing off in the last match of the league stage of IPL 2019. But a third party will be keenly following the match, supporting MI to do the job for them. Sunrisers Hyderabad had their fate in their own hands on Saturday but the loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore has meant that they'll only get through to the play-offs should MI defeat KKR. A win for MI will also confirm a spot for them in the top two, considering their positive NRR while a victory for KKR will complete the top four end SRH's journey.

Following six successive defeats, KKR reignited their campaign by ticking most of the boxes. But the one issue they haven't sorted yet is their death bowling. Meanwhile, MI have banked on team efforts more than individual performances, evident by the fact that there's only one player each in the top-10 lists of highest run-getters (Quinton de Kock) and wicket-takers (Jasprit Bumrah). They'll be keen that Rohit Sharma gets back to scoring big runs ahead of the business end of the tournament.

While we wait for the toss and the teams, here's the preview to keep you updated.
