Backing up the efforts of David Warner, Aaron Finch and Steve Smith, who laid the foundation for Australia's score of 193 for 3, the bowlers were on the mark. Mitchell Starc and Ashton Agar bagged three wickets each while Adam Zampa snared a couple.South Africa are shot out for 96 - the lowest T20I score in Newlands. Australia register a 97-run win and seal the series 2-1. It was, much like the first T20I, a performance of complete dominance by the Australians.
Agar doesn't get a hat-trick, but finishes his four-over spell with impressive figures of 3 for 16.
WICKET Anrich Nortje is trapped legbefore. Lungi Ngidi is knocked over. Two fast arm balls results in two wickets. Ashton Agar is on a hat-trick again. No 11 at the crease. Can he get another 3 in 3?
WICKET David Miller falls. There is very little left in the contest now. Australia aren't even bothering to celebrate.
WICKET Ashton Agar joins the party. Rassie van der Dussen's lob over the 'keeper backfires as Adam Zampa takes a fine diving catch. South Africa are reeling at 59 for 4 in 8.3 overs.
WICKET Adam Zampa strikes at a crucial time, castles Heinrich Klaasen in his first over. 57 for 3.
POWERPLAY Rassie van der Dussen and Heinrich Klaasen have helped South Africa to 50 for 2 at the end of the powerplay. It's a good score but South Africa need to up the scoring rate to remain in hunt of the target.
WICKET Mitchell Starc has struck early, dismissing Quinton de Kock in the first over, and following it with the dismissal of Faf du Plessis in the next. South Africa are left tottering in the chase. 23 for 2 in 2.5 overs.
Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen have walked out to open the innings for South Africa. Mitchell Starc with the new ball.
Even as South Africa kept things in control for a few overs, Steve Smith's unbeaten 15-ball 30 has helped Australia to 193 for 5. It's a massive score at Newlands, especially given that the surface is holding up a bit and is expected to only get tougher as the day progresses. A massive task at hand for South Africa. Can they chase this down?
WICKET And neither does Mitchell Marsh, who top-edges Dwaine Pretorius to Tabraiz Shamsi at short third man. Falls for a 16-ball 19.
WICKET Matthew Wade doesn't last too long, top-edging Lungi Ngidi. Quinton de Kock takes a superb catch as the ball goes high and swirls on its way down. In the process, de Kock became the fastest 'keeper to 50 T20I catches (43 innings), surpassing Kamran Akmal, who did it in 46 innings..
Mitchell Marsh and Matthew Wade are under pressure to prove their value in the side. And this is a good chance. Both hit a six each but it remains to be seen for how well they will cash in on this. 145 for 2 in 15 overs
WICKET One follows another. Aaron Finch is trapped while looking to slog sweep Tabraiz Shasmi. Fails. Now, Australia have two new batsmen in the middle as the death overs approach.
WICKET Finally, South Africa manage to strike. Anrich Nortje gets the first wicket. David Warner is gone for a 37-ball 57. The hosts will hope to pull back the scoring rate for a few overs from now.
