India enforce follow
India enforce follow
Positive decision. For one moment, there was speculation that India might opt to bat just to give their bowlers a little bit of rest especially with Maharaj and Philander forcing them to send down 105 overs but when you have five bowlers in your ranks, you can always bank on them to come back fresh and have a bowl after a good night's sleep.
Build up
India are easily still on top of this Test match but the headlines yesterday were bagged by two South African lower order batsmen who put up an incredible fight with the bat to not only frustrate the hosts but also to show their own batsmen that the pitch isn't a minefield by any stretch. Keshav Maharaj and Vernon Philander joined forces when the eighth South African wicket fell in the second session yesterday and they went on to bat out 259 deliveries to delay India's march towards a 2-0 lead.
Eventually, they ran out of steam right before stumps with Ashwin adding two more wickets to his tally to finish with a four-wicket haul. India now have a lead of 326 runs and now the big question is, will they enforce the follow on or not?
Welcome to the live blog for the fourth day's play of this second Test. An interesting day's play is on the cards. Can South Africa put up a better fight and drag this Test into the final day?
