All over; It's 1-1

Jadeja seemed to have fun with his 25-ball 30 but all that did was helped India reduce the margin of defeat. It's still defeat by an innings, they've lost by an innings and 76 runs. It was on the cards after they were bundled out for 78 on Day 1. By that metric they had a better second outing with the bat, but today they lost 8 for 63 after teasing a fightback last evening. They've fallen 3 balls short of batting 100 overs in the second innings. Small positives? No? Sorry.

What a comeback meanwhile for England. They had all the questions on their side after Lord's. They've responded in some style. Root still too good. Anderson imperious and today Robinson showing he's more than a capable No.2 in these conditions.

Tail between the legs for India, who have much to ponder before Oval.

A superb five-fer for Ollie Robinson

Ishant Sharma is the latest batsman to edge a ball behind the stumps. This one gives Ollie Robinson his second five-fer of the series. He's been an excellent foil for Anderson in these three Tests. Remember, his role has been huge. No Jofra Archer, No Stuart Broad, no Mark Wood or Chris Woakes either and Sam Curran has had a very marginal role.

Top performance !

One for Moeen now

who rips one off the footmarks, goes through Mohammed Shami's bat and pad to hit stumps. Three wickets to go for England!

Six down, Pant has a problem

And India are hurtling towards an innings defeat here. Rishabh Pant has a problem with the balls angled across him. He's batting well outside his crease but he's just plonking his front foot and poking. Ollie Robinson has four... three of them this morning with the second new ball.

Just the perfect first hour for England

India's Nos. 3, 4 and 5 are back in the hut. Anderson almost had Kohli but he will make do with the Rahane scalp. Drags India's vice-captain across and has him nicking to the keeper. India unraveling in the morning against the second new ball.

James Anderson has been handed the new ball by Root.

Welcome back!

Pujara and Rohit first, and then Pujara and Kohli - India's day got progressively better and more productive with each session yesterday as they fought and fought hard to live another day, and maybe open a door to a draw. Maybe. England are still 139 ahead, but credit to Pujara, Kohli and Rohit for stepping up beautifully yesterday to defy England in overcast conditions and keep the match alive. Pujara is nine away from a hundred, Kohli needs five to a fifty - much needed milestones for both batsmen who'd been out of touch lately.

After an engrossing Day 3, we're here for what promises to be equally entertaining Day 4. Don't go anywhere...
