Rajasthan Royals WIN Sunrisers Hyderabad played the chase all along but could never come to challenge Rajasthan Royals in the opening game of the respective teams in IPL 2022. The Sanju Samson-led side dominated in every sense. First with the bat, led by the captain's half century and supported by useful cameos from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer and Devdutt Paddikal, followed by an inspired bowling performance. Prasidh Krishna and Trent Boult returned a brace each and limited SRH to 14 for 3 - the joint lowest score in IPL powerplay - to end Hyderabad's chances. Yuzvendra Chahal picked three wickets to further dent their chances, but some late hitting helped them to eventually end on 149 for 7, handing RR a comfortable 61 runs.
Washington Sundar has launched a blazing attack on Nathan Coulter-Nile and Trent Boult. But it has come a little too late. The best it does, is help reduce the margin of an evident upcoming loss and save a bit of NRR.
14 for 3 in 6 overs - This is the joint lowest Powerplay score in the history of IPL - equalling Rajasthan Royals' effort vs RCB in 2009
