Hit the deck - LSG's trump card
Hit the deck - LSG's trump card
Holder provided the finishing touches by removing Narine and Southee. Eventually, Harshit Rana was run out. KKR - 101 all out and lost by 75.
If De Kock, Stoinis and Hooda set the platform then Avesh, Chameera, Mohsin and co. hit the deck consistently to trouble KKR's batters and also reaped the rewards. LSG now sit on top of the table. With a string of hit the deck pacemen at their disposal, they look good to go a long way in this tournament.
LSG right on top
Hit the deck pace turns out to be LSG's trump card again. Russell took on Avesh's hit the deck bowling by tonking one over midwicket. But Avesh continued to hit the bat hard on impact and pounded it on a back of a length and got some extra bounce. Russell could only top edge it to the fielder at third man where Holder pouched a fine catch.
Avesh then dismissed Anukul. LSG right on top.
Russell to cause another jailbreak?
Until Andre Russell is there, KKR would believe they can create a jailbreak. He took on Holder's loopy bounce and thwacked him for three sixes. And then landed a monstrous hit while facing Bishnoi. The googly was slog-swept deep into the orbit and ended up somewhere in the stands!
Wickets though continue to tumble at the other end. Rinku went for the slog-sweep against Bishnoi but eked out a top edge and Krunal pouched the catch.

Prelude:
Pitch Report ft. Deep Dasgupta: Game number 11 here on pitch number six. The average score on this used surface is 170. The two previous games (on the pitch) were played in the first half but the spinners have played a bigger role as the tournament has progressed. There has been more help when the spinners have bowled slower, less than 90kph. The grass has been shaved off, not much grass left and that has exposed the top soil. It is nice and hard but a bit abrasive. It is going to help the spinners a lot more especially with dew not being a factor.
LSG have had their share of ups and downs this season but they go into the match against KKR on the back of a three-match winning streak. They are also sitting pretty on the points table with 14 points.
The captain KL Rahul has led from the front with the bat in hand. Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya have made crucial contributions. They also have a slew of hit the deck pacemen, who have also made timely contributions.
Their opponent, KKR, though find themselves in a spot of bother, currently placed at a lowly 8th position. However, they come into the game on the back of a win against RR. In that match, Rinku Singh's unbeaten 23-ball 42 would have given the KKR camp some hope. Nitish Rana also played his part by anchoring the chase.
