Live Cricket Score of England vs South Africa, 2nd ODI - Live Blog

South Africa needed 26 off 13 balls. However, three big hits helped bring down the equation to 10 runs off 10 balls. However, from thereon, the English pacers held their nerves to help the side win the match by 2 runs and win the three-match series.
Keeping the pressure up
Jake Ball has bowled a brilliant ninth over to bring the equation down to 33 runs from the last three overs. Despite David Miller and Chris Morris being good players of the full pitched deliveries, England captain backed his bowler, who came up with some fine yorkers. He erred once when he pitched the ball a feet short for Morris to whack him straight down the ground for a boundary, but it was superb otherwise.
10 an over
60 runs from 36 balls. David Miller's quickfire half century has helped South Africa remain in chase. They have depth in their batting and two power-hitters in the middle - David Miller and Chris Morris, but can they hold their nerves?
Double Blow
AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock set up a brilliant platform with their 96-run stand. In the process, they also brought up their respective half centuries. However, both departed in quick succession to help England gain the upperhand yet again in the contest.
Leading the charge
Yet again, it is AB de Villiers leading South Africa's chase. The visitors have shown far better application in this match as compared to their approach in the previous game and have gone about well in chasing the 331-run target. Quinton de Kock too is going strong and has put on another hal;f century stand, this time with his skipper.
Strike 2
Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis continued on the good start, before Liam Plunkett managed to strike the second blow for England. The South African vice captain edged one to Jos Buttler behind the stumps. Meanwhile, de Kock has brought up a fine fine half century - his 13th in ODIs.
Steady start
Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla have helped South Africa off to a good start. They put on a half century stand, before losing Amla. And yet again, it is Ben Stokes doing the damage. First wicket down for the visitors.
The late onslaught
Jos Buttler, after a scratchy start, got into the groove and blazed his way to a quickfire half century. His innings has helped England post 330 on the board and give South Africa a competitive target. With the pitch easing out for batting, the contest is well and truly on.
And the fall...
The big man departs finally. Looking to play over the infield, Ben Stokes ends up holing out to David Miller at long off. Keshav Maharaj, off whom Stokes was dropped twice in two balls, finally gets his man. No 5 for South Africa. But given the long batting order the hosts possess, South Africa are unlikely to have much respite.
Unstoppable
Ben Stokes. All the fuss about the New Zealand-born English all-rounder is for real. Yet again, he plunders the bowling attack and brings up a fine 77-ball century. He has played all around the ground and without too many risks scored at a brisk pace. His innings has set the platform for England's late onslaught.

Continuing the charge
Jos Buttler is finding it tough to find gaps, but in company of Ben Stokes, he has led England's charge after Eoin Morgan. The southpaw is hitting over the infield with ease despite some tight bowling from the South Africans.
Skipper falls
Five short of a half century, Eoin Morgan departs to give South Africa a much needed breakthrough. The skipper hangs his bat outside the offstump to give Quinton de Kock a low forward diving catch.
Continuing the good form
Ben Stokes has continued good form with the bat and brings up his half century off only 48 balls. More importantly, his innings has helped England continue their innings at a good pace. If he stays on for too long, South Africans could be in for some leather hunt in the death overs.
Turning the tide
South Africa have failed to take advantage of the double blow and allowed England to claw back into the contest. Ben Stokes and Eoin Morgan have revived the innings without taking any risks. Their half century stand is going strong and they are threatening to take the contest away from the tourists.
