So that ends game one of this tri-series. We will be back with game 2 on the 16th of July from the same venue. Do join us then. For more cricket, switch tabs and follow the closing stages of the England v India Test at Lord's. For now it's bye bye from here.
Rassie van der Dussen: (on what pleased him the most) Just the fearlessness of the young guys - Brevis and then Rubin coming in. Little bit of pressure, three wickets in the powerplay is not ideal. Overall pretty happy with the performance. Dewald has played IPL, SA20 and he has had a brilliant 6-12 months and Rubin has been on the domestic front for seemingly ever and did not look out of his depth at all. It's encouraging to see. (Ngidi) It was brilliant, took the first over and really set the tone. Well backed up. Rest of the guys kept calm and really chuffed for the bowling performance for it was a good wicket. I was not sure of what to do at the toss. We did not know what to expect from the pitch, when the ball is new, the seam digs in a bit and when the hardness goes away it becomes a little more true for batting.
Dewald Brevis | Player of the Match: When I made my mark, it is a very big privilege to be there for South Africa. That was what was going on in my mind. I am watching the ball and god has blessed me with talent, I did it for him. Any boundary, it needs to go, irrespective of the size. It was quite clear - we were in an interesting position, we were a few boundaries away. It wasn't a big total we chased, we did not need to rush. The plan was to keep it simple and play our game.
Sikandar Raza: In the middle we got stuck, credit to Linde, his three overs for 10 changed the game. Had we got more, we would have got 150-160. Kudos to the curator for producing a good wicket, now we know these will be not high-scoring games. This is what we asked for, but batting first in the winter with the new-ball here is tough and they bowled well. (Ngarava) Really proud of him, the scan in England was not too nice for him. He has worked really hard and he has come back sooner than I thought he would. For him the ceiling would be getting higher and higher. Also Gwandu, he goes under the radar but he has done really well too and all the three seamers bowled well. Us spinners me included need to do better. I'm going to do my best and help them learn from my experience. I have been blessed to share the dressing room with a lot of legends around the world, I'm going to share that with them. We are doing a lot of good stuff, the scoreboard may not show that but there are a lot of good things we are doing. I am extremely proud of the way the guys are learning. We know where we went wrong and we have to ensure the standard keeps going up and up.
16:07 Local Time, 14:07 GMT, 19:37 IST: Easy win for South Africa. They were in trouble after three quick wickets up top but Hermann and Brevis' stand blew the hosts away. The latter was the aggressor and took down Ryan Burl in one over hitting him for three massive sixes. One even went out of the ground as Brevis showed his power. The 72-run stand in quick time brought an early end to the game and that should do South Africa's NRR a world of good too. Ngarava was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe with a three-fer with Gwandu supporting him with a two-fer. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...

Ngarava to Rubin Hermann, out Bowled!! Knocked him over. The off-stump is flattened. Skiddy length delivery and Rubin Hermann is beaten for pace, he makes room slightly to drive and it beats the bat and knocks out off-stump. Hermann was staying leg-side of the ball there and trying to get it away on the off-side. Rubin Hermann b Ngarava 45(37) [4s-5 6s-1]
Ngarava to Rubin Hermann, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!
