Over five sessions have been lost due to the lashing of rain Kingsmead received on Saturday night. We're into the fourth day now and just over one innings has been played. Looking increasingly like a draw. Alas, the game promised much. But hey... it's not over until it is... There's enough time for a Steyn v Williamson battle. So here's hoping for the best. Welcome to Day 4 of the Durban Test. The forecast is good but the outfield... not quite...

Sigh... It was on the cards. The outfield... still very damp. So this Test is heading the same way as the Port of Spain won. Such a disappointment because unlike the India-West Indies clash, this one promised much because of how evenly matched the two teams were. The players will turn up for the final day's play but its going to me more academic than anything else.

We will come back in the hope that the field dries up and we get to witness Steyn bowling at Taylor and Williamson, even if the contest means nothing in the context of the game.
