Toss - Sri Lanka opt to field
Big news - Mohammad Amir has finally returned! He got injured during the Test series in the UAE but has completely recovered now to replace Usman Khan in the XI. Pakistan have also dropped Ahmed Shehzad to bring in Umar Amin.
Teams:
Sri Lanka (Playing XI): Dilshan Munaweera, Danushka Gunathilaka, Sadeera Samarawickrama(w), Mahela Udawatte, Chaturanga de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Thisara Perera(c), Sachith Pathirana, Seekkuge Prasanna, Isuru Udana, Vikum Sanjaya
Pakistan (Playing XI): Umar Amin, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfraz Ahmed(w/c), Imad Wasim, Fahim Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir
Big game for both sides
You may wonder why it is big for the hosts considering they have already sealed the series but Pakistan would dearly love to put in an emphatic performance in front of their home crowd, something they don't get to do often. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will want to break their rut. They have been on a losing streak that's been nothing short of embarrassing considering they are a proud cricketing nation.
After getting battered in the ODIs prior to this series, Sri Lanka were once again mauled in the first T20I too. But Thisara Perera rallied his troops to almost snatch an unlikely win in the second game before Pakistan's Shadab Khan spoiled the party. Their batting has been a huge let down throughout the series so they would ideally love to set things right tonight. Welcome to the live blog for the third and final T20I. Prelude - Cricket in Pakistan
It's international cricket time in Pakistan. You can argue that it happened just a month ago but this is another international side that's playing Pakistan and not a curated World XI side. Organising this game hasn't been without its fair share of hiccups. Seven of Sri Lanka's best aren't here. The head coach too isn't here.
But cricket arrives as a soothing balm once more. All talk can now be about Pakistan's great hospitality and the on-field action.
Get into the mood with the beats of Dil, Dil Pakistan. You'll know what it means.
