Rangana Herath cleans up Dale Steyn to end South Africa's second innings on 290. Sri Lanka win the second Test by 199 runs to complete the 2-0 whitewash. Barring the first day, it was always a one-sided contest. South Africa showed better application against spin in the second innings, but by then, the challenge had become too stiff. Among everything that went against the visitors, Theunis de Bruyn shone bright, and was their biggest takeaway from the failure. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, out batted and out bowled their opposition.
Kagiso Rabada who had partnered Theunis de Bruyn well in their brief stay at the crease, has fallen soon after the departure of the centurion. A classic offbreak induces an edge off the left-hander's bat. No trouble for the slip fielder. Dilruwan Perera gets his second wicket of the innings.
DE BRUYN OUT! An innings for as fine as it was by Theunis de Bruyn, one moment of misjudgement has led to his downfall. Having read the variations so well for all this while, he erred for once and left alone an arm ball to go and crash on to the stumps. He walks back to a standing ovation from his teammates. Richly deserving. Meanwhile, Rangana Hearth has bagged another Test fifer.
