Wednesday's four-run win was badly needed for Australia. Not often have they found themselves taking an early lead in a series especially after the ball-tampering saga. And with India fielding a strong side for the T20Is, Australia were expected to be on the losing side yet again especially with no momentum on their side. But an allround show from Stoinis and vital contributions from the likes of Maxwell, Lynn and Zampa, they find themselves leading 1-0.

Like Kohli pointed out after the game, it is perhaps best that the next game begins within 48 hours so that a team can put a loss aside pretty quickly and focus on the future. Kohli himself will have a call to make regarding his batting position. KL Rahul did score a hundred in England but Kohli's demotion to number 4 doesn't seem to be working for India in this format at least. But perhaps, one can always look to experiment in T20 cricket. Krunal Pandya and Khaleel Ahmed had an outing to forget at the Gabba and don't be surprised if one of them makes way for Yuzvendra Chahal tonight.

For Australia, it's all about making sure they carry the confidence forward. D'Arcy Short needs runs up front and if Lynn and Maxwell can fire in unison once again, they can assure themselves of a good total.
