Pakistan have easily been the dominant side on all four days. It's no surprise that they are the favourites to complete formalities today and take a 1-0 lead in the series. Their batsmen did their bit and their bowlers, despite struggling initially against the new opening pairing of Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja, have fought back hard to put their side in pole position.
After adding some runs yesterday, the hosts set Australia a daunting target of 462, only for their openers to respond in style yet again. But we all knew that one wicket could trigger a collapse similar to the first innings. That's exactly what happened as Australia slipped to 87/3 from 87 for no loss. Khawaja and Travis Head did stem the flow by batting through those nervy last few overs but they have to pull a rabbit out of the hat today.
Australia will not only have to contend with Pakistan's spin attack but they will also be wary of Mohammad Abbas, who used reverse swing to great effect to strike thrice yesterday. Can Pakistan cruise to a 1-0 lead or can Australia pull off the unthinkable? Welcome to the live blog for the final day's play of this first Test.
