It was fun bringing you this ODI series. If Windies didn't impress you, get a heart. And if India didn't, umm... We have the report up - scroll down to read that and keep visiting Cricbuzz for more articles from our very own Aayush Puthran in Thiruvananthapuram. Take care, ta-ta!
Toss and Teams
Windies opt to bat! Quite interestingly, Kohli wanted to bowl because of the dew that awaits us all later tonight. Jason Holder rung in two changes after the Mumbai smashing: Devendra Bishoo and Oshane Thomas came in for Ashley Nurse [shoulder injury] and Hemraj Chadrapaul. India are understandably unchanged.
Windies (Playing XI): Kieran Powell, Shai Hope(w), Marlon Samuels, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder(c), Fabian Allen, Devendra Bishoo, Keemo Paul, Kemar Roach, Oshane Thomas
India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni(w), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, K Khaleel Ahmed, Jasprit Bumrah
Warming up..
Pune and Mumbai might be sister cities only 150 kilometers apart, but Windies must perceive them as the two sides of a loaf grilled in a biased toaster. The highs of Pune, where Windies stunned India with a 43-run win, was followed by an earth-shattering 224-run loss in Mumbai, meaning the fifth ODI today in Thiruvananthapuram will go on to decide whether it's a drawn series at 2-2 or it's India's at 3-1. And I am not ruling out a final scoreline of 2-1 either, especially after how Visakhapatnam tickled us into believing in ODI ties all over again. Hello!
This is also Thiruvananthapuram's maiden ODI, following a year after it hosted its maiden T20I. The match could see some rain - like the venue did on on T20I debut last year - but the venue boasts of a superb drainage and drying paraphernalia [which have arrived from different grounds in Kerala but at what cost?], so expect plenty of cricket.
