A series-levelling win is just around the corner for India who have bossed the Boxing Day Test so far across three days outplaying Australia in all departments. So much so that they find themselves there despite having been a bowler short on the third day's pla y after Umesh Yadav was out of the field with a calf injury. Yet, the available quartet didn't complain; they went about their business in the same clinical way that they have throughout the Test. After India took a vital 131-run lead on the back of skipper Rahane and Jadeja's, the bowlers stood up to reduce Austalia to 99/6. What looked like an impending innings defeat was avoided by the duo of Pat Cummins and Cameron Green, who added 34 runs before stumps were drawn.

Australia lead just by 2, but it can be just about making progress, one small step at a time early on Day 4 for them as they seek to keep India at bay.
